Set
in a village in the 1980s, a beloved and admired priest witnesses a murder
committed by the local landlord. In order to prevent the truth from being
exposed, the landlord frames the priest in an attempt to destroy his faith with
the villagers. Unable to live with the shame and his reputation ruined, the
priest takes his life. After a failed assassination attempt on the landlord by
the priest son, Ravi, he's exiled from his family and home. After years of
living in the city, he's ready to return to his village and finally avenge his
father's death. While the landlord may have power and influence with his money,
there's one thing he can't buy; a Himmatwala.
